Driving to Bend

September should be a great time to drive to Bend; the vine maple will be turning, the roads will be clear, and the RVs…well, you’ll have vine maple to look at!

Oregon Department of Transportation Road Conditions (including weather and construction information)

Driving directions from the Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau.

If you have a little extra time in either direction the Old McKenzie Pass (Hwy 242) is a worthy detour.

Flying to Bend

Unless you’re flying your own plane, Roberts Field in Redmond, 14 miles N of Bend is our closest airport. Horizon (Alaska), United, and Delta all fly here and all else being equal I’d recommend Horizon. Free drinks (including a local beer and wine) and a decent snack on a 45-minute flight

Flights into Portland (PDX) are often less expensive but it’s about 175 miles from Bend. If you want to fly into Portland we can try to help you catch a ride with someone else heading our way.

There’s also a bus that goes to and from Bend and both airports, but we’ll help you find a carpool if we can.

    Hey Jeff and Kate,
I am one of the walking buddies of Joe and Joan’s ……
I think for the party, Jeff should wear the Mother’s Day dress. He looked so cute in that!!
I am happy for you both and love the whole non-wedding, not a save the date idea! Seems you two are well matched and will be blessed and happy for years!
Hope to see you again soon at a race, home, or whenever!
    Love,
    Kathryn
