Gronemyer-Myers
June 17, 2008
Kate Gronemyer and Jeffrey Myers were married Saturday, June 14 on top of Pilot Butte in Bend, Oregon. The ceremony, performed by Justice of the Peace Andrea Shartel, was neither mushy nor religious.
The bride (who is keeping her name, fyi) wore an eyelet sundress. The groom wore shorts and a plaid shirt. Both bride and groom wore Chacos. There were no readings, no attendants, and no colors. Honored guests included parents, local friends, a bunch of random people who happened to be on top of the butte, and every Cascades mountain within 200 miles.
In lieu of a reception, a not-a-wedding party will be held on September 14th in Bend. The couple will honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in January, when they will really appreciate the heat.
The bride, daughter of James and Dana Gronemyer of Coquille, OR, is a 2003 graduate of the University of Washington and is currently a librarian at Oregon State University, Cascades Campus. The groom, son of Joseph and Joan Myers of Portland, OR, is a 2008 graduate of Oregon State University and is currently employed by the US Forest Service. They make their home in Bend.
