This is not a big announcement.

I know on television there’s always a big announcement at some family function that elicits oohs and ahhhs while everyone checks out the ring and asks you when the big day is. That’s pretty much not my thing, and there are no rings yet (though mine’s picked out), but word is starting to get around and we didn’t want anyone to feel left out; we’re (finally) getting married.
In addition to being not really into big announcements, turns out I’m not really into weddings either. (At least not my own. If I came to yours, I’m sure it was lovely.)
Sorry.
We are, however, going to throw a great party for you all with food, drinks, and fun non-mushy stuff on September 14th in Bend. We’ll get married sometime before that and you can read all about it here if you want to.
I know at this point you really just want to say “it’s about time!” Go ahead–that’s what the comments are for. Also, you might be wondering if I’m pregnant. As far as I know (and if anyone would know I’d think it would be me) I’m not. First things first, people.

Hey you guys-
We are so happy for you and your non-existent baby. We all know you do not need to have a baby to get married but we were thinking that might be what it takes to get you two love birds hitched. JK Pete and I support your wedding or non-wedding bliss:) May it be one of the better days of your lives together it was one of ours. Really truly we are so very happy for you both and together- may the sun shine on your face and the wind be at your back as you crazies search for more death marches (I mean hiking adventures) in this journey of life.

Yippee! Eric and I got married on Orcas Island with just the bed & breakfast owner present, then we went back home to Nebraska for a reception. Sounds like we are of similar tastes! Your ring is beautiful and unique (just like you!).

Good idea on the non-wedding! Art and I got married on a sailboat with just our eight kids, the boat owner and his wife, and the minister and his wife. It was just right. Hope yours is too, however it happens.

Well, you are sort of already sharing a name. I’m partial to Gronemyer, but it could be..Grone-Myers, if of course you wanted to change ALL your documentation. Or, Gronemyer-myers or just Gronemyers. This isn’t quite as conducive to creativity as yours was Steph!
